*Funeral procession will leave following the service and travel to the cemetery. All are welcome to join us at the cemetery. It’s about 25 minutes travel time between locations.
1pm – Military Honor Guard ceremony
Nashville National Cemetery (1420 Gallatin Pike S Nashville, TN 37115)
2-4pm – Please join us for some good food and good company at the Life Assembly Church fellowship hall (555 Pleasant Grove Rd Mt Juliet, TN 37122)
*We are hoping to arrange for someone to be able to watch any children in attendance at church, but can not guarantee it at this time.
If you’re coming from out of town – Mount Juliet is only 15 minutes from the Nashville Airport. It’s a great little city full of restaurants and shopping, just 25 minutes East of Nashville.
The memorial service is going to be really informal. Hunter didn’t want a bunch of tears shed for his death, but would have preferred laughter shared in honor of his life. If anyone is interested in speaking at the memorial service, please contact me at jennjlindsey@gmail.com. Ultimately we’d like to have 2-3 people that knew him well that have anything they would like to say about him, and don’t mind carrying on for 5-10 minutes, to be willing to speak during the service.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Fisher House, whose purpose is “providing a “home away from home” for military families to be close to a loved one during hospitalization for an illness, disease or injury.” It’s an organization that we’ve been donating to for years, as we feel it’s a really noble cause.
Hotel Accommodations in Mount Juliet:
Our family thanks you for all of your prayers and support during this time.
Jenn,
I wish I could be there to laugh and cry with you and play with Jack and Ben but I just can’t swing it right now. Still sending loads of love and prayers your way.
Mike
Jenn,
I really want to make it down there on Friday. I think I can swing the day off from work. I just need someone to ride/drive with me Thursday night and then back again on Friday. Anyone from the DC area want to head down?
God Bless,
Chris W
Jenn,
Wish I could go but I am running the Virginia Beach Half Marathon this weekend and have a bunch of people going I have to entertain/lodge. I am going to wear my Team Hunter shirt. I will drink a beer or two in his honor and will send a picture from the race. Sully
We’re planning to drive in. Thanks for the hotel information. Please let me know what we can do to help you.
Thank you for the information Jenn. You are all still in our prayers. Lots of hugs and kisses from Atlanta,
Beth Pearson
Jenn I met you briefly at Hunter’s farewell picnic from DTRA. What a beautiful family you are! Hunter was a great man and I was priviledged to get to know and work with him. I thank him as well as you for your service and sacrifice to our country. I am so terribly sorry for you, the boys, family, friends and all whose lives he touched for the loss of his presence in your lives. I feel like sorry isn’t what you or Hunter wanted to hear from us but it’s hard to express the sorrow I feel for your loss. I know there are no true words of comfort but I want you to know you and the boys will be in my thoughts and prayers always.
Liz Woolverton, DTRA
Thank you so much to everyone that’s gotten in touch to offer help with the kids on Friday. I think we’re good with 2-3 people on hand to help out with any kids that my be coming. I’m slowly working my way through all of the various texts, emails and voice mails, but won’t have a chance to respond to everyone.
Jenn,
Not sure if you are still getting replies from Hunter’s blog, but today you are on my mind, and I just had to contact you. I wish Hunter were here so I could personally thank him for defending freedom, and wish him a Happy Veteran’s Day.
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend his memorial service, but want you to know I did go by the cemetery to visit his final resting place. I love that his plot is on one of the higher spots looking out over the entire property. What a beautiful location. My husband was with me and saluted him. It was a touching moment!
Just wanted you to know I still think of you, and your beautiful sons. I cherish the brief, yet so remarkable privilege it was for me to meet Hunter.
God’s blessings to you…
Always,
Sherri White RN
Jenn, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Jennifer, I too met you briefly at Hunter’s farewell picnic when he left DTRA. My apologies for posting such a late response as I’ve been out of town. I just got word today of Hunter’s passing. I was so honored to get to work with him for two and a half months while Mr. Bruder’s EA was on maternity leave. He was such a kind, and helpful person to me not to mention his wit and humor! I was so happy for his new adventure at Vanderbilt. You and all the family will be in my prayers forever since he died on my wedding anniversary. I will always think of Hunter. May God bless each and every one of you as you grieve for your loss. May he rest in peace for all eternity. God Bless you Hunter.
